1. Who We Are
Sunstate Trades is an online directory connecting Florida general contractors with subcontractors during bid preparation. We are operated by Sunstate Bay Ventures LLC, a Florida limited liability company. Questions: privacy@sunstatetrades.com
2. What Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Account information: name, email address, company name, and role (GC or sub)
- Profile information: trade specialties, service areas, license numbers, and other professional details
- Documents you upload: certificates of insurance (COIs), contractor licenses, and similar files
- RFQs and bids: project descriptions, scope details, and related communications
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, actions taken
- Device and browser information: browser type, operating system, IP address
- Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies required for the platform to function
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Match GCs with subs based on trade and service area
- Send RFQ notifications and platform-related emails
- Extract structured data from RFQs and documents using AI (Anthropic Claude API) to power matching features
- Respond to support requests
- Improve the platform and fix bugs
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. How We Share Your Information
- With other platform users: Profile info (name, company, trade, service area) is visible to other users as part of the directory. RFQs are shared with matched subs.
- With service providers: Supabase (database), Resend (email), Anthropic (AI processing). These providers access data only to perform services on our behalf.
- For legal reasons: if required by law, court order, or to protect user safety.
- In a business transfer: if Sunstate Bay Ventures LLC is acquired or merges, your information may transfer as part of that transaction.
5. AI Processing
Sunstate Trades uses the Anthropic Claude API to parse RFQ text and extract information from uploaded documents (license numbers, insurance details). By submitting an RFQ or uploading a document, you consent to this AI-assisted processing. We do not use your data to train AI models.
6. Data Retention
We retain account information while your account is active. Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Access or correct your information via your account profile
- Delete your account by contacting privacy@sunstatetrades.com
- Opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link in any email
- Request a copy of your personal information
Florida residents: Florida does not currently have a comprehensive consumer privacy statute. We honor the rights above for all users regardless.
8. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and row-level security on our database. No system is 100% secure; use a strong, unique password.
9. Children's Privacy
Sunstate Trades is a B2B platform for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has registered and we will delete the account promptly.
10. Third-Party Links
Our platform may link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will update the effective date. For material changes, we will notify you by email or platform notice.
